We treat your home with the utmost care during your service. In rooms with carpets, an additional specialised plastic sheeting is used to completely protect your flooring, ensuring nothing will come into contact with your carpets. We also use other equipment such as a hearth sheet and a stove blanking sheet, which seals the stove off completely stopping any soot escaping during your service. If protection is required for areas such as the hallway we'll also make sure to keep those areas protected too.
When used by a solid fuel appliance such as a woodturning or multi-fuel stove. You should have your chimney swept at least once a year. This applies whether you have a standard brick chimney as well as if you have a liner or twin wall flue system. Depending on usage you may wish to have sweeps more frequently, such as before and after winter when stoves are used the most, however this isn't required.
Our standard chimney sweep typically takes 1.5 hours. When there is extra precaution needed to keep the area clean or there is more soot than usual, we'll need to take extra time to do the job properly. Also in these circumstances there’s no extra charge.
Please note these are typical durations and may be slightly longer/shorter depending on the circumstances of each visit.
*Between September & April Only
Are you certified?
Yes! I’m fully qualified by HETAS not only for chimney sweeping but also to install stoves. I’ve also got over 5 years of experience both installing, chimney sweeping and stove servicing, so you can be sure you’re in good hands. After every sweep you’ll also be given a physical and digital copy of your certificate to show you’ve maintained your chimney.
